Moving into Chapter 7-IMPACT

We know the account of Elijah standing alone against 850 demonic prophets on Mount Carmel challenging them to a dual of fire. The prophets called on their gods yet nothing happened. Elijah pouring water over the sacrifice, calls out to God and the fire of the Lord fell, burning everything up.
Elijah has all the prophets killed. Then something odd happens. Elijah hears that Jezebel wants to kill him because of what happened...

EXCERPT: “Unexplainably Elijah was afraid and ran for his life. After wandering for a brief time in a desert and struggling with suicidal thoughts, Elijah found himself in a cave on Mount Horeb. While he was hidden in the cave, God came and asked him a very important question, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” (1 Kings 19:9). Elijah had seized many divine moments, but he had hit the wall. Overwhelmed and exhausted, he felt he just couldn’t go on. God’s solution was simple. He commanded Elijah to “go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for God is about to pass by” (I Kings 19:11)” Chasing Daylight 188-189

I feel like there are many of us here today that have seen God move in our lives, we have seen miracles and experienced great things yet like Elijah have unexplainably been derailed by something smaller along the way. I cannot help but feel the words in 1 Kings 19:11 are for many of us right now. Our God who loves us so deeply want to bring us out of the cave back into His presence so all clarity and perspective can be renewed!

CHALLENGE:
I challenge you to make some time soon where where you can get alone with God on the mountain:
Not for anything you can get out of him
Not to make yourself feel better about your life
Not to seek divine revelation or purpose
Not to get questions answered
Not to be religious

But rather to simply...
Be in His presence and enjoy Him for Him, to allow His love to wash over you, to want Him more than anything else you can receive in return.
