Chasing 22 - Contagious

This is an inspirational reminder to us all today...

EXCERPT: “When ever we seize divine moments, we magnify the presence of God. To act on God’s behalf is to express what’s on His mind and on His heart. When we do this, we become a flagship of God’s activity. It is the contemporary equivalent of the pagans who called the followers of Christ Christians because they looked like Jesus. To watch a follower of Christ live was to see God move.” Chasing Daylight 196

REFLECTION: When we meet people and spend some time with them, we walk away with impressions or thoughts of who they are. Like... that person is really clever, full of himself, humble, full of passion, negative, weird, wonderful, handsome, ugly, rich, poor, friendly, interesting, religious, unhappy etc.

What if we were the kinds of men people met and in doing so walk away having met Jesus. They leave with an undeniable knowing that we are a Jesus shadow and they too want to know more, not by what we say but by who we truly are. What if when people met me they left knowing the very heart and mind of God. Wow!

I believe to become contagious Christians, we need to be so heavily soaked in the presence of God that it starts to ooze out of our being and people can’t help but get Jesus all over them when they are with us no matter what we do or say! To get to this place it takes pressing in God’s presence and chasing after Him and welcoming the surgery that comes from asking for His eyes, hands, feet and mouth.
I believe this is the line in the sand many choose not to cross because sin management and maintaining a relatively guilt free Christianity seems a lot easier. Unfortunately this kind of life is the salt without flavor, the light under the basket.

Matthew 5:13"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.14 "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

PRAYER: God we want to be like you. We want the courage to ask you to do whatever it takes for us to become more like you! We want to be contagious Christians that live in such a way that people see us and cannot help but turn that to praising You!
Amen.

Blessings,
Rob
