Hey Boys, this is the last devotion covering CHAPTER 1- CHOICES.
I hope you all had a great weekend.
READING
Num 13:27-28 They gave Moses this account: "We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit. But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there.
Num 13:30-32
Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, "We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it."But the men who had gone up with him said, "We can't attack those people; they are stronger than we are."And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, "The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size.
REFLECTION:
These men are presented with a DEFINING MOMENT... will they believe God truly meant this was their land or will they back down in fear, walking away from God’s plan.
10 out of the 12 allow fear to rob them of their faith in God’s word and only 2 stand firm believing that God is able no matter how big the giants are.
The bad choice of the 10 in that defining moment cost Israel another 45 years of wandering.
Would those 10 spies have responded differently if they knew they were in a DEFINING MOMENT that would cost them their lives and the Israelites another 45 years should they choose fear over faith?
None of us know when we will be presented with a defining moment, you may have one today or tomorrow or this week.
I believe if we are men who are purposefully choosing to embrace every day and all the moments we are presented with, if we are men dialed into the heart of God, knowing and understanding his voice, we will make the right choices when those defining moments present themselves!
PRAYER:
God, let us be secure enough in You that when you call us into the land of the giants, we will not falter or hesitate. Lord sorry that we act like babies most of the time. Remind us of your plans for our lives so we can fall back on those daily.
Go for it!
